This was a year long project, led by myself, in collaboration with tattoo artist Catello James.
An oiled cognac cowhide was tattooed directly like skin, blending mythical figures, medieval tools, symbols, and fashion imagery drawn from both of our visual languages. Because leather doesn’t heal like skin, the hide was left hanging to cure in the studio for ten months before being constructed into a jacket. Finished with a brushed brown twill lining and tarnished 925 hardware, the final piece documents time, patience, and collaboration.
